ASAP v.4.3 Release Notes

Release Date: March 2010

This document is intended to provide you with a high level overview of the new capabilities introduced in v4.3 of ASAP. This release includes a significant new feature that enables users to create, modify and reuse RFx solutions via Template Management. ASAP v4.3 also includes a completely redesigned user interface specifically engineered to improve usability by both buyer and supplier users. Additional updates to a number of existing features and reports are also included to enhance usability and flexibility. There are also notable bug fixes reported by our users.

Major New Features in ASAP 4.3

RFx Template Management

  • Create new RFx templates from previous ASAP sourcing events.
  • Edit existing templates, including CombineNet Sourcing Solution templates, to modify data fields, adjust cost-models, configure reports, set default event features and upload supplier and item data.
  • Create new sourcing events from your templates with the click of a button.
  • Improve sourcing strategies from event to event by making configuration changes within the template.

Updated User Interface Design

  • Improved color-scheme draws users focus to the data and detail of each page.
  • User-friendly navigation menus that are consistent and clear.
  • Improved customer branding of sourcing events.

Feature Improvement

Historics Manager

  • Utilize MS Excel to bulk upload historic supplier and pricing information for each item in your event.
  • Use the online Historics Manager to identify items that require updates and edit them online (maintaining an audit history of changes).
  • Add multiple historic suppliers and prices for an item online.

Q&A Manager

  • Ability to upload a pre-defined set of Questions and Answers that are frequently asked or discussed by suppliers in your sourcing events.
  • Answer multiple supplier questions at once while offline using our download and upload features.

Consolidated Bid Builder Suite

  • New filtered bid sheets for offline bidding reduce clutter.
  • Improved bid sheet validation helps reduce bid entry errors.
  • A new bid upload error workflow assists suppliers in quickly locating errors and fixing them to ensure that all bids are submitted correctly.

Updated Report Configurability and Filtering Capabilities

  • All Analytics Reports are now configurable: show/hide data fields, rearrange column order, enable filters for specific data fields, etc.

Streamlined Bulk Data Management

  • Download and upload filtered bulk data sheets within the online reports where the data is reviewed, monitored and managed.
  • See changes in bulk data immediately in the online reports.

Fully Featured Bid Timeline Management in Event Configuration Wizard

  • Utilize the Configure Event Features Wizard to setup unlimited bid rounds.
  • Override the bid timeline for all suppliers to suspend a bid with ease.
  • Manage supplier-specific bid phases within a bid round to allow for manageable monitoring of bid activity.

Multi-Field Award Summary Allocation Report

  • Configure the award summary report using one-to-many data fields.
  • Download the report into MS Excel or .csv format.

Notable Bug Fixes

Negotiation Guide Download and Configuration

  • Configuration of negotiation guide options is now persistent for multiple users within the sourcing event.
  • Downloaded versions of the negotiation guide now honor the online configuration options.
